Words can be extraordinarily powerful tools. Let’s use them to make a difference.

alice johnson - me a vegan content writer

Welcome!

I’m Alice.

I type words for a living; mainly about alternative proteins, veganism, science and sustainability.

I’m also a PhD student studying cultivated meat, a connoisseur of plant-based delights, a globetrotter with a taste for adventure, a weightlifting enthusiast and a fungi fanatic. And yes, I write about all of those passions too.

I’m sure you’re here because you’d like to get to know a bit more about me and what it might be like to work with me.

So, let’s get started!

You know, only if you’d like to. You can begin whenever you’re ready, or just…

What is a 'cerebrum'?

I’m so thrilled you asked!

The cerebrum happens to be the largest part of my brain. And quite possibly yours too.

It’s where I integrate sensory impulses and control my higher intellectual functions. In simpler terms, it’s the very core responsible for my writing prowess.

Don’t believe I have a cerebrum?

What my cerebrum can do for you

I write compelling words for clients, primarily in the form of SEO blog posts and white papers. But I’m no stranger to the realms of app and web copy either. In fact, I’ve even ventured into voiceovers, starred in music videos and contributed to brand discovery projects.

Currently, my focus lies in science communication, with a special emphasis on alternative proteins, the fascinating world of fungi in all their remarkable forms and the impact of these subjects on public health, the environment and animal welfare.

Through my work, I aim to demystify complex topics, share inspiring stories from the world of veganism and grow awareness of the latest advancements in alternative proteins, particularly cultivated meat.

My ultimate goal is to not only inform but also inspire others to embrace a sustainable and compassionate lifestyle; from individual behavioural change to influencing policy decisions to drive collective impact.

#Workstyle

Science ignited my passion. Veganism and the art of storytelling shaped my path. And now that I’ve found my workstyle, I’ve weaved them all together to pursue what I love, wherever inspiration takes me.

I’m a firm believer that true fulfilment and a sense of well-being come from having autonomy over how and where we work. That’s why I’ve embraced a nomadic lifestyle since 2017, seeking adventure whilst delivering my best work.

That means my working hours are pretty flexible; sometimes I’ll work from 9am to 5pm, other days I’ll seize the morning hours from 6am to 8am. And yes, there are periods when I might choose to skip work entirely to conquer a mountain peak or get lost in the pages of a captivating book. It’s all part of the magic that fuels my creativity.

So, I kindly ask you to embrace my unconventional workstyle and judge me not by the confines of an office but by the passion I pour into each project.

I deliver high-quality results that speak for themselves.

Yes, but who am I really?

I’m still on a quest to unravel that mystery, but here’s what I’ve discovered so far:

I’m Alice Johnson, a 33 year old writer, research scientist and unabashed vegan from the UK. Yep, I’m a proud vegan!

But wait, there’s more to me than meets the eye…

Recently, I embarked on a journey to expand my knowledge and contribute to the future of slaughter-free food systems. I’ve been accepted into a prestigious PhD programme focused on the optimisation of scaffolds for the bioprocessing of cultivated meat. My research will be dedicated to removing bottlenecks and advancing production techniques, unlocking the vast potential of cultivated meat for a more ethical and sustainable world.

When I’m not typing words or experimenting in the lab, you’ll find me recording vocals for my stepdad’s band, The One Beneath. I also make cameo appearances in my friends’ wildly creative videos (the evidence is just a scroll away).

Oh and did I mention my undying love for vegan doughnuts?

Biscoff and salted caramel are my ultimate weaknesses.

If you happen to feel extra generous whilst negotiating a content deal, a box of these delicious doughy circles would make my day!

😉🍩

Why should you hire me?

Because I care.

That’s the short answer.

Here’s the long one:

As an ethical business owner and passionate advocate for change, I’ve poured my heart and soul into growing my freelance writing career whilst nurturing Vegan Sisters, my thriving side hustle.

But it doesn’t stop there.

I’m driven by a greater purpose: to fortify the vegan community and contribute to a more compassionate world. By joining forces with your business, I can channel my skills to propel your success and advance our shared cause.

But don’t just take my word for it.

See for yourself how much impact my words can have:
